Metro Skilled Trades Positions:
  • 5 days of vacation earned through first year (10 days earned though 2 year)
  • 3 personal days
  • 8 sick days

Aviation Skilled Trades Positions:
  • 13 days of vacation your first year
  • 2 floating holidays
  • 13 sick days per year
  • 12 Paid holidays

Full Time

40 hours a week guaranteed.

Attendance Bonus

Metro appreciates dedication. Positions can earn up to an additional $1,750 per year by maintaining perfect attendance.

Longevity Pay

Metro also appreciates loyalty. Positions have the opportunity to earn up to $1,800 per year in longevity pay.

Tool Allowance

Metro provides an allowance to you to offset the cost of tools you need for your job, up to $1,250 per year.

Uniform Allowance

Clothing and laundry allowance for eligible trades is based on their position.

The Ultimate Transit Pass

NFTA employees receive an ID card valid as fare on Metro Bus or Metro Rail anytime.

Student Loan Forgiveness

Metro appreciates people working in public service jobs. You may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Cellular Phone Discounts

The NFTA has agreements with many cellular phone providers. Savings range from 19-25%, depending on provider.

Deferred Compensation Pre-tax Savings Plan

Metro offers enrollment in the NYS Deferred Compensation. It allows you to put aside money from each paycheck toward your retirement in a pre-tax account.
